Water baptism symbolizes our personal identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When we make this decision, we publicly confess the death of our old nature and rise together with Christ to new life, in victory over sin!

Who should be baptized in water?
Everyone who surrendered to Jesus and received Him as their Lord and Savior.
When is the right time for a person who accepted Jesus to be baptized?
Now. There is no need for waiting or preparation time. If you have made a personal decision to believe in Jesus, we encourage you to participate in our next baptism ceremony.
I have already been baptized by sprinkling; Do I need to be baptized again?
Not necessarily, as baptism is an act of faith! If you have certainty and peace in your heart regarding this issue, there is no need for another baptism. However, if there is still doubt or if you were baptized without understanding what was happening, you should consider getting baptized again.
I was already baptized as a child; Do I need to be baptized again?
Yes, you need to. The Bible says that Baptism is the result of a personal decision, the result of believing in Jesus. A baby, or even a child, does not yet have the cognitive capacity for this.
At what age can I be baptized?
The Bible is not specific about this and, for this reason, many churches adopt different positions regarding child baptism.
At Nova Igreja, we baptize children from the age of 11, as we understand that at this early stage of adolescence it is already possible to consider the expression of the person being baptized.
